Your interest.
Your choice.

This notice covers the GoochlandUFO public launch website and its newsletter interest form. GUFORCE is the independent Goochland UFO Research Center, based around Goochland County, Virginia.

What we save

If you choose email updates, we save your email address, the time of your request, the version of the consent you gave, and that the request came from this website. We do not ask for your name, location or an encounter account. Repeating a request does not create a duplicate subscription.

Confirm your address

New requests are stored as pending confirmation. Cloudflare Email Sending delivers a confirmation message from dispatch@goochlandufo.com. Follow its link within 24 hours and press Confirm my email to verify your address. Opening the email or link alone does not subscribe you. Confirmation attempts are limited to one every 15 minutes and three per day per address. If sending fails, your pending request stays saved and you can try again later. Older pending requests are not automatically emailed.

How we use it

The interest list is for GoochlandUFO project correspondence. We do not publish or sell your address, and we do not import contacts. Subscriber data is stored privately in Cloudflare D1 within the project owner’s personal Cloudflare account. There is no public subscriber directory or list endpoint.

Spam protection and hosting

Cloudflare processes network requests to host and secure the website. The signup service uses temporary, pseudonymous rate-limit records to reduce abuse. It does not save raw IP addresses or browser identifiers alongside your email. Expired abuse records are cleared automatically. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this launch page.

Change your mind

To withdraw your request, correct your address or ask for deletion, email michael@mfelix.org. Include the address you used to sign up. We keep your interest request until you ask us to remove it or the project no longer needs it. The confirmation email includes an unsubscribe link, valid for 30 days, that suppresses future signup confirmations and project updates. You can also contact Michael at any time. Repeating a signup does not reactivate an unsubscribed address. Cloudflare also suppresses known bounced or complained-about recipients. We store private, expiring link hashes and limited delivery status to operate this flow. No general newsletter campaign is running.

Private encounter accounts

The separate “I’ve seen one” interview saves your account as you wrote it, approximate place and time, required email, submission time and follow-up consent. Use “Unsure” when you do not remember. We do not request attachments, exact addresses or other people’s names. Drafts stay in session storage in your browser tab until submitted or cleared; shared-device users should clear drafts before leaving.

Reports are saved privately in Cloudflare D1 as unverified until you confirm your report-contact email using a separate, single-use link valid for 24 hours. Confirmation permits contact about that report. It does not establish that the account is fact, subscribe you to the newsletter or authorize publication. No reports or contact details have a public listing or retrieval endpoint. The confirmation email does not contain your narrative.

A report-contact stop link is valid for 30 days and stops report-contact requests to that address. Newsletter unsubscribe does not delete reports or change report-contact consent. Stopping report contact also does not delete the original account; email Michael to request correction or deletion. Repeated identical submissions are deduplicated. Reports remain private until you request removal or the project no longer needs them. No public sightings archive is launched.
